Walking Together into Summer
As we step into the month of June, we find ourselves standing in the vibrant season after Pentecost — a time when the Spirit continues to move among us, calling the church into renewed life, deeper connection, and courageous witness. Across our region, congregations are discovering fresh ways to listen, serve, and embody Christ’s love in their communities.

Summer often brings a different rhythm to congregational life. Schedules shift, families travel, and ministries adapt, yet the mission of the church remains constant. This season offers us an opportunity not only to rest and renew, but also to reimagine how God may be inviting us into new relationships and new possibilities for ministry.
Throughout the region, we are witnessing signs of hope:
- Congregations opening their tables wider to neighbors and newcomers.
- Leaders engaging in courageous conversations about vision and future ministry.
- Churches partnering together for outreach, worship, and shared mission.
- New disciples discovering community, belonging, and purpose.
The work of being a “movement for wholeness in a fragmented world” continues to shape who we are as the church. In a world marked by division and uncertainty, our calling is not simply to preserve institutions, but to embody the reconciling love of Christ wherever we are planted.
This month, we also celebrate graduates, recognize fathers and mentors, and prepare for gatherings that strengthen our shared ministry. We give thanks for pastors, elders, volunteers, youth leaders, and faithful servants whose daily acts of compassion often happen quietly but make an eternal difference.
As we move through the summer months, may we continue to ask:
- Where is the Spirit leading us next?
- Who needs an invitation to the table?
- How can our congregations become places of healing, hope, and belonging?
May June be a season of renewal for you and your congregation. May you find moments of Sabbath rest, opportunities for meaningful connection, and renewed courage for ministry. And may the Spirit continue to guide our region as we walk together in faith.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Dr. David Dubovich
