Dear Friends in Christ,
As I continue my sabbatical reflections, I feel called to share each month a glimpse of the life and work of our Kansas Region.

One of the ways we live out our commitment to transparency is by keeping our congregations and church members connected, informed, and inspired by all that God is doing among us.
A Gift of Leadership:
I am delighted to share that the Kansas Regional Executive Committee has called Rev. Bill Rose-Heim to serve in a part-time role with our Kansas Regional staff.
In this new ministry, Bill will:
- Walk alongside congregations in renewal and transformation
- Launch a pilot Regional Elder/Ambassador Program in the Northeast Area
- Coordinate the rollout of the “When Everyone Leads” workshops for any congregation wishing to explore new ways of shared leadership
We are grateful for Bill’s wisdom, gifts, and faithful service. May God bless this new season of ministry, and may many congregations flourish through his work.
Disciples Center at Camp Tawakoni Renewal:
The Spirit is moving at Disciples Center at Camp Tawakoni as well! Our beloved camp is receiving a $250,000 renewal:
- A new office building at the front entrance to welcome guests
- Renovation of the pool including filters, piping, and resurfacing
- A full renovation of the Training Lodge
These spaces will shine even brighter for children, youth, and adults who come to grow in faith, build community, and encounter God in creation. We can’t wait to share updated photos when the work is complete, and to welcome you all back to these renewed spaces of grace and joy.
Gratitude for Your Generosity
Thanks to your prayers and faithful support, the Kansas Region closed 2025 with a net positive financial year.
Your gifts make it possible:
- The birth of new congregations and the revitalization of existing ones
- Lay and clergy leadership development
- Camp Tawakoni ministries and renewal
- Programs for Kansas children and youth, and ministries for adults
Together, we are co-creators with God, building communities where all can experience love, hope, and life in Christ.
Looking Forward
In April, I will share:
- News from the General Board of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
- Opportunities to serve on the Regional Board of the Christian Church in Kansas and its committees
As always, if you have questions, concerns, or simply want to share a word of encouragement, please reach out to David or me. Your voices, prayers, and hearts are part of this living body of Christ, and we are thankful for each one of you.
May God continue to bless and guide our shared ministry in Kansas.
In Christ’s love,
Tom
