Through the wisdom of author Kristen Neff, Doug Euler and Donna Gilchrist will lead this fall retreat into the realm of compassion. Steeped in the wisdom of Jesus, learn to recognize your own humanity as you extend grace to others. Relax and remember the deep and enduring love of God while embracing your authentic self.
Get cozy in Compassion Circles, sharing as the Spirit leads you. Take a breather with God while strolling the grounds, reading, or jotting down your thoughts. Share laughs and stories over meals and by the campfire. Finally, plan to leave refreshed and renewed.
Our Speakers
Doug Euler has worked in the field of corrections for 26 years and is retired from the Army Reserve. He has studied positive psychology for the last six years, as well as serving as a member of FCC Leavenworth, and is now a member of West Side Christian Church in Topeka. He is consistently busy with his wife and boys, but enjoys being a novice birdwatcher.
Rev. Donna Gilchrist has pastored congregations in Kansas and Oklahoma for the past 15 years. She enjoys meeting God at the intersection of prayer, the arts, mission and stories. Volunteer work with the Topeka Center for Peace and Justice has enhanced her understanding of Circles and restorative practices. She loves spending free time with family and her lab/Australian cattle dog mix, Gracie.
