Four topics, seven weeks, invaluable resources

Develop effective church communication strategies and goals and become a better steward of your church’s communication resources this Spring at the 2022 Art of Church Communication workshops.
This seminar taught by CCK Communications Specialist, Jessica Marston, will be taught in a hybrid learning model combining in-person, live streaming, and online “at-your-own pace” learning styles. These interactive workshops provide church leadership – pastors, office staff, and members – with tools and strategies to improve their church’s overall communication ministry effectiveness.
Each week will include discussion boards, a video presentation, interactive Q&A sessions, guided hands-on activities, real-world church applications, and more. This seminar is for anyone (not just church office staff). If you’re interested in church communication ministry, regardless of your current skill level, you are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The 2022 Schedule and Topics are:
March 24: Welcome and Introduction Zoom Call
March 28-April 1: QR Codes, Hashtags, and Texting
Harness the power of combining print and digital communications technology to reach a broader audience. Learn what QR codes, hashtags, and text alerts are and how combining them with current print communication strategies can help you bridge the generational gap.
April 4-8: Your Church Story in Photographs
What is your church’s story? Photographs are powerful tools for inviting and attracting people to your church. Photos shared on your website or social media platforms can help non-attenders shape their view of your church. Learn how to take, edit, select, and publish pictures that tell the story of your church ministry.
April 11-15: Let’s Get Social (Pt 1)
Building your community and growing your church includes growing your presence on social networks. With the growing number of networks available, how do you keep track of them all? Explore a few of these networks, the pros and cons to each of them, and how to choose the right one for you.
April 18-22: Let’s Get Social (Pt 2)
An important part of any social media communications strategy is tracking your success and effectiveness. To ensure you are meeting your goals and to plan future content you need to answer questions like: who am I reaching; when are they most active; and what types of content are they engaging with?
April 25-24: The Community Connection
Church doesn’t just happen within the walls of a church building. It takes intentionality to connect with the community in and around your church. Learn how to set SMART goals and connect with your community in a variety of formats.
