The Board of Directors of Kansas Christian Home (KCH) announced Oct. 25 the resignation of CEO, Karen Sturchio and introduced a plan for leadership transition. Sturchio’s last day will be Nov. 17.
“It is with both sadness and gratitude that I announce that after seven years of service, Karen Sturchio, Chief Executive Officer of KCH, has chosen to step down from her role as CEO for personal reasons and to pursue other interests,” said Bob Gleason, President of the KCH Board of Directors.
“We regret her departure as Karen has served our organization well. During her leadership tenure, she brought about improvements in operations and outcomes, including a 5-star quality designation by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). We are incredibly grateful to Karen for the energy, vision, and heart she dedicated to our organization,” Gleason said.
The Board has a plan for leadership transition, which ensures continuity of care and operations for the organization. The Board of Directors will begin an immediate search for candidates to fill the CEO position.
The KCH Board appointed Rebecca Setser interim administrator, effective Oct. 25, and she will serve in this capacity until the CEO position is filled.
