The Christian Church in Kansas (CCK) has a variety of grants that are available each year. The fall deadline is fast approaching. Applications and full grant deadlines for all CCK grant opportunities including descriptions can be found here.
Kansas Bible Chair Grants
Established by the Kansas Women’s Board of Missions, the Kansas Bible Chair (KBC) offers significant funds to provide quality education and spiritual formation opportunities for Kansas Disciples. Many regional events are subsidized by KBC funds, allowing Kansas Disciples to take part at a much lower cost than would otherwise be possible.
All requests for funding of education projects must come to the KBC Task Force with an endorsement from a committee or commission of the CCK. KBC Grant requests are reviewed twice a year — April and October — by the grant committee and recommended to the Regional Executive Committee for consideration.
Awarded grant money goes towards reimbursement of program and/or speaker costs beyond what is collected in registration fees. Unused grant money is recycled into the fund and used for other event programs. The Fall submission deadline is Sept. 30.
KLC Tuition Grants
The region’s partnership with the Kansas Leadership Center (KLC) allows up to 50 church leaders in the leadership training programs offered. These are for people who want to grow their leadership skills, to aid their congregations and CCK in addressing the adaptive challenges we face.
The KLC Partnership Grant covers tuition and a KBC Grant covers books, housing, and meals. Participants pay only a $25 commitment fee.
After your application has been processed, follow the emailed instructions from Rev. Dr. David Dubovich to register with Kansas Leadership Center and arrange for securing books from regional staff.
Congregational Enhancement Grants
The goal of “Enhancement Grants” is to support new ministries in congregations whose strength may be taken for granted, and to help them become stronger, by reaching out to affect the lives of those in the communities in which they reside. Congregations receiving partnership grants are encouraged to “pay this experience forward,” by helping other congregations learn and grow.
The Regional Moderator team will evaluate grant requests and make recommendations to the Regional Board, which must approve all grants. They will also make recommendations about taking this program beyond the experimental stage, including program changes.
This is a three year program totaling up to $5,000 in matching regional funds.
