Rooted in Christ, Growing Together
"Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing." — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
As July unfolds, many of us find ourselves in a different rhythm. Church camps are in full swing, families are traveling, gardens are flourishing, and congregations continue the faithful work of worship, service, and witness. Summer often invites us to slow down just enough to notice where God is already at work.

Across our Region, I continue to be inspired by the creativity and faithfulness of our congregations. Churches are finding new ways to connect with neighbors, share meals, welcome children, care for older adults, and serve their communities. These ministries may not always make headlines, but they are the quiet, steady expressions of the gospel that transform lives.
This season also reminds us that growth takes time. A farmer does not harvest the day after planting, and neither does the Church. The relationships we nurture, the leaders we encourage, the children we teach, and the acts of compassion we offer all become seeds of God's future. Sometimes we see immediate fruit; often we simply trust that God is bringing growth in ways we cannot yet see.
As Disciples, we believe Christ has called us to be a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. That calling is lived out every day—not only in sanctuaries but in schools, coffee shops, nursing homes, neighborhood gatherings, and community events. Wherever we extend hospitality, seek justice, offer grace, and proclaim hope, Christ is present.
Thank you for the countless ways you embody Christ's love throughout Kansas and beyond. Thank you to pastors, elders, deacons, church staff, volunteers, campers, counselors, youth leaders, board members, and every person who quietly serves behind the scenes. Your ministry matters.
As we continue through the summer, may we remain open to the Holy Spirit's leading. May we listen well, encourage one another generously, and celebrate the many signs of God's kingdom already growing among us.
May you find moments of Sabbath, opportunities for renewal, and fresh joy in serving Christ together.
Grace and peace,
David Dubovich
