A message from the
CCK Anti-Racism/Pro-Reconciliation Team
The progress of the Anti-racism/Pro-reconciliation Team, approved by the Regional Board in April 2019, was disrupted by COVID-19, and then propelled by the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis, police officers.
We stand in solidarity with millions of people in the United States and from around the world who are in a state of grief and anger over his death and the unjustified deaths, current and historical, of a long list of people of color at the hands of police and other white people in our nation.
We want ministers, members, and congregations of the Christian Church in Kansas to know that we are committed to encouraging calls for justice, mercy, and we are determined to find a better way into the hearts of Kansas Disciples.
We are moving as quickly as possible to get training for our team to provide an excellent Anti-racism/Pro-reconciliation staff and deliver resources to you.
Currently, we invite your prayers for the oppressed and for the progress of love in all our communities. We invite you to visit the following websites to know that you are not alone and that the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is offering a voice for change in many regions.
We need to be the church we say we are
