For more than four decades, the Rev. Dr. Robin McGonigle has devoted her life to parish ministry, community, leadership, and interfaith collaboration. Over the span of 40+ years, Robin has served five congregations – serving one of them twice – leaving a lasting legacy of pastoral care, thoughtful leadership, and progressive theological insight.
Deeply committed to social justice, Robin has served on numerous community boards focused

on homelessness, LGBTQ+ inclusion, combating bigotry and racism in schools and workplaces, supporting women, and addressing the needs of people living in poverty.
A respected voice in contemporary biblical scholarship, Robin is the incoming President of the Westar Institute, the organization best known as the home of the Jesus Serminar. Robin also serves on the Editorial Board of Westar’s scholarly magazine, The Fourth R, helping shape accessible, research-based conversations about Christian origins and modern faith.
Interfaith bridge-building has been a defining theme of her ministry. In an act of hospitality, Robin welcomed a local Islamic community to house its new school within their Christian Church for six years.
Alongside her parish responsibilities, Robin has contributed to higher education as an Adjunct Professor for two universities. Her commitment to supporting emerging clergy – especially women – has been a hallmark of her vocation.
Across every chapter of her ministry, Robin has embodied a thoughtful, justice-oriented, and relational approach to leadership. Her career stands as a testament to the power of inclusive faith, intellectual integrity, courageous engagement in the public square, and a deep and abiding belief in the capacity of communities – religious and otherwise – to transform lives. Robin serves as the Senior Pastor at Riverside Christian Church in Wichita.
