The Christian Churches in Nebraska and Kansas will meet together in Assembly at the first-ever JOINT Regional Assembly, Nov. 11-12, 2016 at Ambassador Hotel in Salina.
Together we will share and learn about the mission engagement of our partner congregations across the state boundary, and encourage one another as we engage in mission in our churches and together as regions, from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth! It will be an enriching weekend filled with worship, inspiring speakers, mission, workshops, and of course fellowship. Our theme for the 2016 Kansas-Nebraska Assembly is Let Your Light Shine.
We are honored to have as our featured speakers both our General Minister and President, the Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins, and Rev. Pam McGrath, a Disciples minister serving in a United Church of Christ congregation near Boston. They will challenge us to let our lights shine in the name of God.
Come with open spirits as your spiritual candle is lit; prepared to let your light shine when you return home for the whole Kin-dom of God!

As a child of a mother who had left the church, Pam McGrath asked a long series of neighbors to take her to their churches with her; she learned that all denominations share the power of story. It’s no surprise, then, that she is now a storyteller, workshop leader and ordained clergy of the Christian Church, DOC. She continues to share stories as a gateway to the sacred, with the congregation she serves.

Sharon Watkins serves as General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. She is an inspirational preacher, teacher and facilitator who shares her considerable skills in a variety of religious and ecumenical settings.
