Dear Friends,
I am thrilled to be writing this article to each of you, clergy and laity within the Central/High Plains District. As each of you may know, Ken Marston is on a much-deserved sabbatical to rejuvenate physically and spiritually. I ask that each of you keep Ken and Donna in your prayers as they spend much time of rest and renewal with each other.
During Ken’s sabbatical, as you may have seen in the correspondence from Tom Stanley, I will be assisting Tom with providing connections with the clergy and congregations that make up the Central/High Plains District. If during this time you may need assistance, please reach out to Juli at the Central District office and she will provide me your information to connect with you.
It is hard to believe that we are halfway through the year and so much has taken place within the life of the Kansas region. A lot of planning is underway for a great opportunity for all of us to come together for the Disciples Connect & Equip event on August 12th to be held at First Christian Church McPherson. There is additional information about the event in the Kansas Messenger, the region’s website at www.kansasdisciples.org as well as this month’s Central/High Plains newsletter. I want to encourage each of you to register and attend a great event that is in store for us. The planning team for the event has been hard at work to make it a memorable event.
I encourage you to mark your calendars as well for a leadership event to be held on September 6 in the High Plains District and October 21 in the Central District. Be watching for more details on both of these events. May each of you be blessed in the work you do for the Central/High Plains District.
Blessed to share the journey with each of you.
Rev. David Dubovich
