Tawakoni, your regional camp and conference center, invites more than regional campers and staff to “be still … and know God” each summer. Additionally, the year-round facilities host a variety of groups for overnight and day events including church camp, retreats, weddings, family reunions and more.
To support these programs and the facilities needed to accommodate them, Tawakoni hosts an annual gala and auction fundraiser. Proceeds support capital improvements and raise money for camp scholarships. This year’s capital improvement project focus is a new camp security gate and monitors. This year, we are offering three auction options! Due to the success of last year’s online auction, we will have a set of items available exclusively for virtually bidding on Friday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Then, we’re planning to offer a completely different set of items for an in-person silent auction and live auction along with a meal at the camp from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.
The menu is fresh-baked bread, salad, green beans in cream sauce, maple sweet potatoes, quinoa, and your choice of pork tenderloin with rosemary honey-mustard sauce, beef tenderloin with sauteed mushrooms and red wine sauce, or roast turkey breast with gravy.
Since you choose how you want to participate — in-person, virtually, or both – bidding procedures differ. Virtual participants will receive an email with bidder ID, a temporary password, and instructions one week prior to the event. In-person participants will need to check-in at the registration table to receive a bid number.
Virtual bidder tickets are $5 each; individual in-person meal and auction tickets are $45 each, or purchase a table for eight for $300.
In addition, If game time schedules match up, watch the KSU Wildcats and KU Jayhawks and enjoy tailgate snacks with a Football Watch Party (tickets $15 each).
