Oklahoma Disciples Host ‘Empower & Equip’ Church Leadership Training
Oklahoma Disciples are inviting Kansas Disciples to “Empower & Equip,” a one-day, in-person leadership development conference from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at New Covenant Christian Church, 12000 N. Rockwell Ave., Oklahoma City, Okla.
This year the theme is “how does Jesus equip his disciples?” with workshops focused on the how to’s of ministry, especially in our post-2020 world.
From best practices of how to be an elder, deacon, or board moderator, to how to minister to children and youth in this generation with all of the upheaval of the last years, to how to respond to this cultural moment. As people of grace and justice, we are focused on having a leadership development conference that helps equip you for ministry – empowered by the Holy Spirit to make a difference for Jesus in your communities.
We will experience simple and powerful worship at Empower & Equip. Highlighting different liturgical and musical gifts from around the region, we’ll be inspired by the preaching of Pastor Milton Bowens of Shepherd Street Christian Church in Chickasha. We will have an extended time to pray together, praise together, and be empowered to go into 2024 as Disciples of Christ who have been equipped for our Gospel work.
Register today! Cost is $35 per person for adults 19 or older, $20 per person for youth (10-18 years), and includes lunch and program.
Childcare is available for six-week-old infants to grade 5 at no additional cost. If you need childcare, please provide the necessary information on your registration form. Remember to bring your child a sack lunch and snacks.
