I’m Super Excited that the 2023 Kansas Disciples Men’s Fall Retreat is right around the corner: Sept. 22-23 at Tawakoni. Our theme will be “What Does the Lord Require of You?” and the keynote speaker will be Tom Stanley, CCK Co-Regional Minster.
The last time I spoke with Tom, he was telling me how excited he was and can’t wait to get started. I always like it when the guest speaker is excited. If you’re sitting there saying, “I haven’t signed up yet,” no worries! You still have time to register.
Go to www.kansasdisciples.org/events or call the Topeka office and let them know you’re coming. You can even pay when you arrive, but you need to let us know you’re coming.
Here is what you need to know:
Friday kicks off with an optional pre-event service project beginning at 10 a.m. You are invited to come out to help clear and clean the three campfire ring sites. This includes:
- cutting dead trees and storing the wood
- moving and restacking firewood underneath shelters
- clearing out dead brush and undergrowth
Friday lunch will be at a local area restaurant.
Event registration and check-in begins at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. For any clergy who are attending, Jessica Marston will be available from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. in the Dining Hall to take your directory/standing card photo. The retreat will close around 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Cost is $70 for individuals, $60 each for a church group of five or more, and $50 for first-time attendees. SAVE! Be one of the first 10 registrations under the age of 50 years and have your registration fee refunded.
Blessings,
Luis Mendez, Kansas Disciples Men Coordinator
