The Christian Church in Kansas has trained leadership through many programs, but can benefit from a staff member responsible for focusing this work in our congregations. Instead of a narrow focus on new churches, we are proposing a shift to not just new expressions of church but also transformation in our congregations that need it the most.
The Associate Regional Minister for Transformational Ministries will have a targeted focus on a handful of congregations in order to guide their process of discernment and renewal. Sometimes this will look like an assessment of current needs, imagining new ministries in existing congregations.
Sometimes this will look like interim ministry work, providing restructuring and hopeful transformation. Sometimes this will look like new church ministry, helping foster planters and existing congregations in creating new worshipping communities.
