Members of Belmont Boulevard Christian Church gathered Sunday, Jan. 30, to commemorate the founding of the Congregation.
During a morning worship service in 1962 at Salina First Christian Church, twelve families were commissioned to start Belmont Blvd. Christian Church. These 12 families gathered at a house that would be the parsonage and gathering place for the new church.
The last four living members of the original 12 people were present and participated in leading this service by presiding at the communion table and receiving of the morning offering. Ell Umphrey provided the Communion Meditation and the prayer dedicating the morning offering and Betty Worrel said the prayer of Thanksgiving for the Celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
