We share your concern about COVID-19 and the many ramifications it has on our lives and, what this means about the summer camp program.
We all know and affirm that safety is the number one priority. At camp, we will abide by all CDC recommendations. We are, of course, hoping things will be significantly different in June. Currently we practice sanitation efforts to prevent germs from growing and being shared. We will review all our practices and, in some case, increase our efforts.
Camp leaders met March 25 and have agreed to approach the summer knowing that when we are closer to summer, plans may need to be adjusted. The situation will be reviewed again on May 1. At that time we hope to have a plan with minimal change.
In response to these difficult times and the volatility of the economy, 2020 camp fees are being reduced by 25%, based on the early-bird fee. One exception – KCYF Mission Week fee remains at $350. See revised fee schedule attached.
If for any reason a camp session is canceled, or if the camper is unable to attend a full refund will be issued. We urge families to complete registration forms and send them in as soon as possible. Register online here or contact your church office or any regional office for a paper PDF form.
All of us are struggling with the situation and looking for the right answer, hoping to not interrupt our camp program. We will work hard at finding solutions which work and we will do everything possible to communicate these as soon as decisions are made.
Please continue to promote and register children and youth for the camping season. Share with your congregation the importance of the camp program and our gratitude for all that is being done to keep both Tawakoni and the program strong and viable into the future.
