Disciples Women

Kansas Disciples Women (KDW) provides leadership and resources for all local units of Christian Women’s Fellowship and Disciples Women’s Fellowship.

KDW NEWS BYTES is our primary communication tool for women of the Kansas region. It is emailed to all women who have signed up for it or who attend one of our retreats or Spirit Fests.

KDW Cabinet is led by a team of elected officers and each officer is elected for a two-year term and may succeed herself once. Each of the five districts in the region sends two representatives.

Heartland Inter-Regional Conference

Fall Retreat is offered in October at the regional campground, Disciples Center at Tawakoni, with a nationally known speaker. Both mid-week and weekend options are available. The retreats provide opportunities for workshops, service, fun and fellowship with women from across the region.

Spirit Fests are presented in wide-spread locations each spring to introduce the newest study materials and offer leadership training. The 3 one-day events also provide worship and fellowship opportunities.

Scholarships: The cabinet also administers a scholarship fund to assist women interested in attending the annual retreat — Helen Schwab Scholarship. Download the Scholarship Application form here.

Blessing Boxes: For 60 years, Disciple Women ministries have expressed their gratitude to God through the Blessing Box ministry. For those who participate, it is a spiritual discipline more than a financial one. It helps keep a focus on gratitude to God and on the responsibility to share blessings with others.

DWF groups across the region are supportive of Kansas Christian Home, providing crafts for the annual fall bazaar, and giving gifts to residents. Go to Disciples Home Missions and Disciples Women for further information.
