Gate opens at 9 a.m. Opening worship is at 9:45 a.m. under the big tent. The day will close by 3:15 p.m. Cost is $10 per person, maximum $25 per household. Register by July 31.

Marcia McFee:

Worship Design Studio’s Marcia McFee will lead opening worship and a workshop. Renew your worship skills and connect with visitors, new members, and new Christians.

With support from Kansas Bible Chair, this will launch a 1-year partnership between Worship Design Studio and the region, to help congregations renew worship skills to reach new generations, through a  subscription to the Worship Design Studio webinar service.

Mission Grants:

Mission grants will be launched! These are partnership grants—that is, grants will be awarded to congregations that develop a new mission project in partnership with another Disciples congregation, or as appropriate, a church of another tradition or another agency. A total of $5000 has been set aside for these starter grants, to make it possible to do something that you haven’t done before, to meet a need beyond your congregation. 2018 Congregational Escape & Mission Fest

Plans are underway for the 2018 Congregational Escape and Mission Fest, Saturday, August 11, at Disciples Center at Tawakoni.

Formerly called Regional Assembly, this family-friendly event will include elements of a traditional assembly such as worship and workshops, along with the fun of a county fair including play activities, swimming, and “fair food” offered by churches and Disciples Men’s groups from across the region.

Mission grants will be awarded at the event; details will be forthcoming as plans develop. Men’s and women’s groups may hold their Assembly-connected activities on Friday evening, August 10. Other affinity groups may also develop Friday evening activities; contact regional staff with questions. A voting booth will provide you the opportunity to voice your opinion on church business.

RV parking will be available, and some lodging at the camp may be available. Details are still under development.

Admission will be $10/person, $25/family. Food booths will have donation jars, with proceeds going to mission.

Come escape with us!
