Camp Clean-up | KDW NEWS BYTES

KDW CAMP CLEANUP WEEKEND:
April 30 - May 1, 2010 at Camp Tawakoni

Clean-upIn May 2008, at a suggestion from Cindy Baldwin, KDW First Vice President, women from the region gathered together at Disciples Center at Tawakoni for two days of cleaning to prepare the campground for weeks of youth and children who would experience God in that sacred space. Windows were washed, curtains were laundered, floors, scrubbed, beds wiped down and cleaning supplies were left in each cabin.

Clean-upCenterpieces were made for the tables in the dining hall to make the big space feel more like home. Those who came and worked had good fellowship and left feeling like they had made a real difference in


clean-upRhonda Glenn (right) and her family worked tirelessly on the kitchen in the Patsie Sweeden Leadership Lodge. Cabinets were emptied, scrubbed, lined with shelf liners and then new organizers put in place for those using the facility in the future.


clean-upThe group began and ended the work experience with a time of worship and dedication for the wonderful youth and children who would come and enjoy the special place.
